Kaitilina: You're a hoot, you know it? You always make me smile with your posts. Thank you for that.
You're right about the cough -- I have definitely noticed a lack of coughing and it's made me realize how bad my cough would get -- to the point I would gag. Not a good and pleasant feeling, that's for sure!
I've also noticed a decided lack of my usual bronchitis and sinusitus, typical of this time of year. What a treat to not deal with that any more -- it would last for months on end! I don't miss that!

I would love to hear from both the new and long term quitters, how your health has improved by your decision to quit smoking and keep the quit. I know some people actually found out they had asthma that was masked by their smoking and now are able to be on the correct medicine for that condition.
Personally for me, I do not have the smoker's cough anymore at only 4+ weeks of my quit. I had this cough for two years or more. I can laugh without hacking up a lung. The chest pains are also greatly diminished to non-existent. I can smell and taste again (I never knew peanuts were in snicker's bars..LOL)
Anyways, I was just curious about other quitter's. I would love to hear how quitting made a difference in your health. No improvement is to triveal for this thread.
Thanks,
Kaiti

Great thread Kait - I don't have that cough anymore either (I just kept pretending that I had endless colds - actually I haven't even been sick since I quit) I don't get cranky when I have to work late and I don't mind waiting in line at the grocery store....believe it or not (in some ways) I am more patient!

Hi Kim
You will hate this first one.
I have lost weight!!
My wife says my bottom has virtually vanished!
On the negative side I seem to have had cold after cold this winter might be coincidence but I have never been like this before.
Sleeping getting better still some very odd dreams...
The big positive is the lovely people I have met through this site!
Phil
