Good job JT. One day at a time....I am going to the doctor tonight to get my Chantix. My quit day will be 2/14. I am interested in hearing how you do with the Chantix...side effects, cravings, etc. Please keep posting...

keep it up sweet T, I'm on 11 or 12 whatever the meter says, but I actually cut back significantly before my quit day using the Chantix. My shipmate Rainie uses that as well. Stick with it and it gets easier. Good luck to you Mom, I had little or no side effects to speak of, be sure to take it with food. Let us know how it goes. Mr.Magic

I am so impressed with my first day of my last quit! I think a lot of it is the Chantix but I think just knowing what to expect this time has been very good (I quit for a year and started back 3 months ago). I don't fear the unknown this time. The withdrawals and cravings have been slight to nill!
I've been reading the posts and posting a little which is a big help both this time and last.
I can do it...

I would recommend Chantix to anyone who has had a hard time with w/d or cravings. I usually get really foggy and can't think or concentrate but today has been a dream come true! To be able to just shrug off the few thoughts of smoking on day one is unbelievable but that's the way it's been.
Last time I quit for a year I used the patch. It was like quitting a little each step down which worked but was much more uncomfortable. I just can't believe this Chantix... Finally!
