Dear MomMom,
I know sometimes you feel that our family doesn't seem very supportive of you in your quest to become smoke-free. I wanted you to know that I could think of no better way to show my support for you than to travel this road with you.
Frequently you say "you are not like me, you ARE me!". That being the case, do you think there is anyone in this world who is prouder of you than I am? I know what a challenge this is for you, but I also know that you are a fighter, and you have the determination, the drive, and the desire to win this battle. I have nothing but confidence in you, and you truly are an inspiration to me.
I'm feeling more and more confident in myself every day, that I'm winning my own personal battle with the nicodemon. But just to prove to you what an inspiration you are, I want you to know that when the cravings do occasionally arise for me, the best way to talk myself out of it is to repeat "if my mother can do it after 40 plus years, this should be a breeze for me". That really is what works the best for me. Running a close second is the opportunity to create more little people who will call you MomMom ;p
I posted this on here because I wanted everyone to know how proud I am of you, and because you truly deserve a moment in the spotlight for your accomplishment.
In the words of Bette Midler (and some other less-famous country guy before her)
"Did you ever know that you're my hero
And everything I would like to be
I can fly higher than an eagle
'Cause you are the wind beneath my wings"
I love you, Mom, and am so incredibly proud of you. You're leading by fantastic example now!!
