Katy: "There is NO disgrace in using an aid....the object for all is the same....to stop smoking. If you use patches for 6 months and manage to quit, you have done the same thing as the person who manages to quit cold turkey. It's all about finding a way to NOT light up!"
MissyFit: "Most of us smoked a lot of years. No need of rushing through the quit process. Whatever it takes, just don't smoke. No matter what method you choose, it's simply going to take time. If we're successful, we all end up in the same place... "

Thanks, Kate & MissiFit! Very wise advice! This is my fifth quit. I use an NRT inhaler (and occasionally, a small piece of NRT lozenge when the craving becomes unbearable); and I will keep using it as long as necessary - 3 months, 6 months, a year ... don't know yet! So far, so good! :)
Cheers,
nmc
