It's getting mighty cold outside these days.........It's so nice to stay in the cozy restaurant instead of tromping out in the snow for my "fix". You know, I was always scared that I would end up being one of those people tromping down from the cancer ward to have a smoke....You're right...sometimes it's easy to forget how lucky we are to be quit! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Maybe some of you will remember that a few weeks ago I found of carton of cigarettes in my front yard. Well I now know whom they belonged to. There is this man that is staying with some people across the street. No big deal, right? This is the kicker. This man drives around with two to three oxygen tanks. He can barley walk across the street, dragging is oxygen. He sits in the open garage and smokes and smokes and smokes. If this isnt a visual that drives home the insanity of smoking, then what is? It makes me very grateful and then very sad for him. I have many reasons to quit as am sure most of you do. This is just one more to add to my list. Again I had dinner with some friends last night. Again they all had to leave the table and go outside to smoke. I am the only one not smoking so it was kind of funny how they made the decision on who would go out first and who would stay with me :eg:. Isnt it grand? Everyone have a safe and smoke free week-end My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 104 Amount Saved: $30 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 23 Seconds: 38

A lady in our area was smoking with oxygen on and almost burnt her face off. Another lady here died in a house fire, and her oxygen valve was in the on position. The experts determined a cigarette started the blaze. Is there no end to such madness? Sparky, Thanks for sharing! It does sometimes take the bottom out moment to make one realize. My absolute favorite quit story in all these years, was the older lady who was wheel-chair bound and smoked constantly. She decided to give the quit a try and guess who is walking around and feeling better than ever! No Joke :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
