Wondering if anyone is taking chantix? I have not smoked in 5 days...hard to believe, I didn't think I could make it past 1 day...I never made it past one before. Is it the chantix or that I want it more? Let me know your experience with chantix? One day at a time....to a new clean life. Dayone

Thanks for all the info on chantix. I was hoping others had good experience because I haven't been able to make it this far on any of my attempts. I am through day 6 and have only thought about have a smoke about 6 or 7 times. Not bad, I think. I know also that I have allowed more people to know my plan and that has helped. My doctor has prescribed 3 months, but said I could go for 3 more if I felt I needed it. The only side effect I have had is that I now remember what I dream and sometimes they are kinda weird. For those who are thinking about using chantix, I work for a Health insurer and our employee health specialist told me today that research shows chantix users have double the chance of being sucessful as all other NTR products. working on day 7....I have to keep going. Hi, I'm taking Chantix since December 24. First week, got sick, now I'm ok with it. It's pretty amazing, I have done my research, there are varying views on it and I wonder about it - what will I do when the 24 weeks are up (I'm doing the program twice, already talked that through with my doctor). I may not renew at week 13, but most likely I will. My husband, also on it, won't renew, he's doing great. The other side affect is the vivid dreams (which I like LOL) except when they're about lung cancer. Overall, it's the best aid I've been on. Good luck and congrats. At the end of the day, you're the real *drug* - the real winner. Marie

Dayone, I believe it's the Chantix..I've tried everything out there except Laser Therapy...with no success. My daughter recommended this, or I probably would still be smoking. Some side effects I've experienced are: Dry mouth Constipation Good dreams (that contribute to a very restful night, I haven't slept this good since I started smoking again in 1993 "nicotine interferes with sleep") I eat more often, but I used to smoke instead of eat...not Healthy. There's something going on with my sense of smell though which my daughter is also experiencing. Today is my follow-up visit with my Doctor...and I will ask him about this to see if it is related to the Chantix. The best thing about the Chantix is that it "Really Does Curb the Crave" As an experienced "Quitter", I found that the first 3 days of withdrawal were really bad...but the WORST was yet to come...disengaging myself from the HABIT. As a chain smoker, I associated everything with the cigarett. So, if you have gone 5 days without a cigarett...you have it made. I don't see your stats down there, so how bout letting us know what you've gained this week in savings and life? Keep the Quit...auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 917 Amount Saved: $85.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 12 Mins: 38 Seconds: 28

Do a search here. There have been quite a few Chantix users pass through since it's approval.

Also a Chantix quitter...great aid! The best! However, give credit where credit is due. You have to want to quit more than you want to smoke no matter what you use. Congrats to you! Make no mistake...there is NO quit smoking aid that will make you quit smoking unless you want it bad enough. The danger of relapsing is there no matter how many days you are quit or how you quit. Smoking is an addiction. You are an addict. As much as it is nice to think you are done, you must always be vigilant. There are many people who have lost multi-day, multi-month,and even multi-year quits (I am one of them) by becoming too comfortable. Having said all of that, I congratulate you all and am happy that your quit has been great. The only true answer is to never light another cigarette.
