I saw my Dr. today, I ask her about blood pressure she said as long as it remains below 140/90 its not much of a concern because of anxiety tends to elevate it, I also ask her about zoloft, if that would raise it and she said no. I also have been having rapid heart beats which she says can raise bp also. :)

Thanks for responding. Like we need another thing to worry about. I too have a dr's appt., but not until mid Nov. Saw my psych. yesterday, and he took my BP to confirm my ob/gyn's result. He didn't seem too concerned with the reading, but will continue to monitor it monthly. He assured me that it is nothing to worry about, as long as it does not increase. He also said that some meds do raise your blood pressure. I'm sure the anxiety problem does not help either. Keep me posted on what your dr. has to say.

Hi, I don't take the medication you are taking but I am taking zoloft and my pressure seems to be running a little high also 140/90 so I have Dr. appt. tom. and i am going to ask about it.

I was wondering if anyone had an increase in their blood pressure due to medication. Last week, I had my pressure taken and it was high 140/95. Had it taken again a week later and it was the same, so it wasn't a fluke (white coat syndrome) Naturally, I'm freaking out. Always had a normal reading. I read somewhere that Effexor can cause BP to increase. Been taking it for about 2 months now (75mg). I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.

well i havent found out anything yet. drs. office called me back finally yesterday with the reply he wants to see me in the next few days but theres no openings at this point so am being put on standby. i was talking with myson and he says its tipical for him to have his heart fibulate when hes having one and also the high bp. hes had them for many years like me. but now im back to square one with the fear of dying and being left alone. cant seem to win without losing. im still trying the rice vinegar. hope and pray i can get my life together again. i hate feeling like this. just thought id update you and thanks to all who have responded to my thread

My Bp goes up during my attacks..my normal is around 120 over 70..it has gone up as high has 150 over 90. But i have had several EKGs done becasue some attacks did send me to the ER..but they were all normal. My Doc said its normal for your Bp to spike during an attack...just like if you exercise...although yours did spike alot...I would def tell my doc about that. I hope evryting turns out ok.

Hi, I am having my heart doing the wierd thing now, just starts all of a sudden. I have had abnormal ekg and holter monitor and am waiting for them to schedule another test, You don't tell someone who suffers from panic yeah there might be a heart problem and send you home waiting for them to call it had been a week and a half, so i get myself all worked up that I will have a heart attack. My bp is always up when I have attacks but your numbers seem really high. Let me know what you find out today.

i had a really bad time of it last evening. i had noticed off and on during the day my heart was fibulating and my pulse wasnt quite right. about 5:30 pm i wasnt feeling that great so i took my blood pressure and wow it was thru the roof 153/202 and my pulse was 160. i finally took half of my klonapin and waited awhile and finally it started to subside. thought i was going to end up in er. has any of you had this happen to you? i see my drs. nurse today to take my bp and am going to tell her about it and see what she recommends. rather scarey. what a way to have to go thru life. am rather worried.
