A day in the life of a nonsmoker.

Okay, warning ahead of time this is kinda long. but it has a point. Honest. Today we flew from Tampa to Houston, then from Houston to Kansas City, Missouri. There were four of us my coworker/friend and her husband, and me and my husband. This is the coworker/friend that said she was going to quit smoking on New Years and didnt. She and her husband still smoke. Heres what our day was like - Alarm went off at 6:30. Got up to make sure the kids were awake for school and to say our goodbyes before they left. - Airport shuttle was due to arrive at 8:40. Suitcases packed and out on the front porch, Hubby and I sat down to relax and drink a leisurely cup of coffee at about 8:10. Shuttle arrived early at 8:30, but, no biggie, we were ready. - Sat through two more stops on the way to the airport. Did not fret or fidget because of the hour-long shuttle ride, just enjoyed the fact that someone else was doing the driving. - Checked our luggage at curbside. Airline guy joked with us and made us laugh. We tipped him well and made him smile. - Hubby was hungry and we were early (airport shuttles always get you there way early) so we went to TGI Fridays for breakfast. (I had no idea they had a breakfast menu, but they do! At least at the airport they do.) - Got a frantic call from coworker. Were still on our way, well be there soon! We smiled because for once it wasnt us that was running late, and went back to eating our breakfast. - Finished breakfast and went to the airside. The line for security was very long, but we werent stressed about it, after all, what can we do, its out of our control. We snaked through the line with everyone else and it didnt actually take long to get through to the other side. - Boarded the plane. It was completely booked and we were all packed in there like sardines, but whats new about that. Our friends were in the row behind us and were on the plane when we got on (her husband has a disability and so since he was riding in a wheelchair, they sailed past us through security). We got settled in and as usual, I fell asleep before we even took off. - Woke up about a half hour later and stayed awake for the rest of the flight. Didnt fidget, felt relaxed.[/b

Allow me to add ~ You had the patience to write all that and not even THINK about smoking too, right? Excellent. Glad you're enjoying the freedoms you never thought were there all along!
