Deli - Remember your power, friend... Nothing and no one is more powerful than you are :) Who we are mirrors how our Quit journey is - focused and grounded, or lost and insecure... we have amazing power to change it all moment to moment! Great thread, stickin :) Blessings and Light- Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 229 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,044 Amount Saved: $1064.85 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 19 Mins: 19 Seconds: 10

Hi stickin - Great post - and I love the simplicity of your message... We are absolutely in choice as to whether we light up again or not... One thing I love about the Quit process is that we really are in control of what we do ~ we get to make a choice... Whether nick shows up or not, what we do when he does is completely up to us. Accountability in a Quit keeps us Quit! I read about Quitters who tease themselves w/ - what if I light up just one - or they're curious about lighting up... and I wonder, why in the world would you do that to yourself? I mean if there is a runaway train coming down the tracks, would one want to stand on the tracks just to "see" what would happen? IF I EVER STOP COUGHING I"LL NEVER EVER CONSIDER IT...I agree I do have to do this journey now but do not want to be trapped in that Bill Murray Movie Groundhogs Day where he keeps having to repeat the day over. Nah, I never want hell week or this cough again..Thanks for the post. yes it starts all over with one puff hope I never have to do this again. I am almost 20 days but one puff is all it takes to return. I totally agree. I don't understand how you become week after such a success story. All I know is for me personally is that I NEVER want to go through the steps of quitting again. This is my 3rd and final quit...prior to now the longest quit by choice was about 2 weeks. I am almost certain that I am past the majority of the physical and mental issues that come along with the quit. Thank goodness for self control...because I am now proud of who I am!!!! Never to return to smoking....it is a CHOICE, I choose to be FREE!!! I believe this happens to quitters at any and all stages because we neglect to remember that we are nicotine addicts. There is no "one" for an addict. while the 'choice' may be yours in the moment, if you choose to light up, the addiction will come screaming back after you. so I try to remember always....I am addicted to nicotine....I no longer use it, but I am still an addict just the same just be careful always....this is a very insidious addiction.
