okay, the stench of old stale cigarette smoke in my car is really starting to bug me. I am planning on cleaning the car this weekend. I was going to use some febreeze, and a friend told me it wouldn't cut it. Any suggestions?
Thank god I never smoked in my house...
(But there are a few articles of clothing in my closet...that can only be dry cleaned. I think those might go in the trunk of the car soon)
:)

Vinegar and water? Smell like Massengills
There is something called smoke away that works well and you might try the old Lysol in the little brown bottle. I bought two air ionizers as well.

Getting the smoke smell out of the car is hard. Try putting a dryer sheet or two around the area that the heater blows out by your feet. I also sprinkled the ash tray with carpet fresh powder. And I use a lot of fabreeze.
Open the windows, drive fast, and lots of peppermints.

My problem too! The smell in the car has faded to something tolerable. It left the house within a few days.
Congratulations on being 10 days smoke free. You are really kicking ash!

i swear this is true......dont use vinigar.i was stopped one day by a policeman, because of a light out. when i opened my window he ask if i had been drinking. (i dont drink) i was driving my mothers car and she always washed her dash and doors with vinegar and water, come to find out the vinigar fermented more and that is what the officer smelled when i opened my window.my mom doesnt use it anymore. i washed my truck out with good ole pinesol and hot soapy water. then sprinkled carpet fresh on carpet, left it on for a few days and vacumed. it smells alot better now.
