Thanks guys, I chickened out and realized this morning that I was not prepared. So I am taking the weekend to prepare and get my substitutions and will go for it full force on Monday. I know, I'm horrible. I will do it right next time. Can't wait to be healthy someday :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/15/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

I will be quitting tomorrow and I have a question. I am sick right now with a nasty cold/cough. I see from some of the posts that a cough will come after I quit. Is this a good time to quit? I watch kids in my home and hate coughing around them. It's bad enough from the cold. Will quitting with the cold make it worse and for how long? Will it make the cold go away faster? What else can I expect tomorrow? OK, maybe that was more than one question. Sorry. It's the perfect time to quit! I never used to enjoy smoking while sick anyway. Prepare a little. Have your coping mechanisms handy. Gum, water, sunflower seeds, etc. Keep yourself busy. Take a walk, clean a drawer. Lots of slow deep breathing worked for me more than anything. You're doing a great thing, be gentle with yourself and reward yourself for getting through cravings. They pass. You CAN do this! some quitters cough....some quitters don't.....I smoked for 45 years heavily and I never coughed after I quit. Is this a good time to quit??? there is no perfect time to quit....your addiction is likely to begin throwing doubt into your head....don't listen....do just as you have planned. Get on with quitting....get in control and stay there stick close and post often Katy
