Those persons are happiest in this restless and mutable world who are in love with change, who delight in what is new simply because it differs from what is old; who rejoice in every innovation, and find a strange alert pleasure in all that is, and all that has never been before. Agnes Repplier
(This is going to sound strange coming from me for those of you that know me.)
As often as necessary, put your quit in perspective. It is possible to remain quit but not embrace the changes that come with it. Living life as a non-smoker and knowing how to deal with the emotions can be difficult but is nearly impossible if you fight the changes along the way.
How exciting is it to visit somewhere you have never been before? What about dreaming a dream and then watching it come true? Or, working hard for something for a really long time and then waking up one morning and realizing that you have reached your goal? That is exactly what quitting is like.
Grab hold of the changes that come along with the quit for they are part of the process of becoming a new being. Quitting brings with it the growth of a person who believes in theirself because they have conquered addiction. Some of us just take a while to get there. That really doesn't matter. What matters is that we arrive, stronger, healthier, happier people ready to tackle the next challenge life has in store for us.
