Find Away
For years and years and years, I would think to myself I will quit tomorrow, next week, next month or when I turn 40, 45 or 50, in one ear and out the other. I found it difficult to get started quitting, finding a motivator really helps, a thought or some written words you can refer to when you ask yourself, and why am I doing this?
Whats oblivious is that you need to be aware that you smoke, I was on autopilot. Be aware, ok I smoke. Get inspired, I have my motivators. Determine what triggers you to smoke, plan distractions for them, and practice replacing triggers with the distractions. Do some more planning, strengthen your will, determine the correct NRT and set your date.
I stopped smoking about 14 months ago. You will get to a point where you really dont think about smoking. I used to buy cotton T-shirts with shirt pockets and they were sometimes hard to find, and now I go pocket less. Make the first step, you can get through this, just say no, say no, say no and say no. Say smoking is not an option, say what? Smoking is not an option. Ok, I hear you loud and clear. You deserve to be here, we all deserve to be here.
I found that you quit for the day, get up in the morning and do it all over again. I am happy that I dont smoke and dont want to smoke. It is something that I once went through.
