Imallclear,
Psssssssssst, CAN WE TALK?
I'd love to get to know you better and I think you need a change of focus in your attitude. I love the attitude, I just think you need to aim it somewhere effective, like at the addiction instead of at the quit. There is such a difference when you fight the addiction, when you say I'm choosing to quit as opposed to some nebulous "someone" has decreed that I quit. So what say you? What time are you usually on? Right now it's midnight California time so you can figure what the time diff is from when it posts.
And Trailbum, I think you did exactly right, telling Imallclear to go out alone! I love that you said "I don't smoke anymore"! And I hope that chases out the Pssssts! But if not, I have a Psssst of my own I usually say. It goes something like this: When I have been smoke free for as long as I've smoked (which is 40 years), I will reevaluate my life and see which part I liked better (I'm betting on the smoke free part, though). So go Psssst someone else, I've got 39 years and 10 months to go yet.... (I don't actually SAY all that, I usually just sing or hum to the tune of the Beatles song, "will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 92"? Which is the age I will be, if I live that long, to be smoke free for 40 years!)
With love, Denise
