Cheermom,
Take a deep breath! Relax for a minute. Regain your composure.
Okay now. Keep breathing slowly.
I know exactly how you feel. I went through that as well. It took a while, but I got over it. I kept on thinking that it was not fair. Why can those people smoke, but I cant? I wanted to stomp my feet and go run away.
It is normal to feel this way. Please do not focus on this though. You are choosing not to smoke. You know that is the better choice. I personally, do not want to EVER go through hell week again. Remembering the shaking, crying, painful physical withdrawls keeps me on my toes. I never want to go back.
I looked at my hubby last night as he hacked up his lung. He had to sit up on the bed just to get in a breath. I thought ~ how sad. It came to me that in a few days I will be at 8 months. And if he stuck with his quit, he would be there too. But this means that he has been back to smoking for over 7 months now. Sad. I never thought of that before.
Remember your quit. You did this for you. Think of how sad it is that your spouse is burdened with his addiction. He lives for his addiction. His addiction OWNS him.
You never want to go back. Change you thoughts. Give yourself a big reward. Do something wonderful for yourself. Go get a manicure, and make sure to smell your hands every hour. The beautiful scent of the lotion will remain~ instead of a stinky ashtray smell.
Take care of yourself. Don't sell yourself short. You are in control of your quit. Be kind and gentle to your soul. You are doing a wonderful job!!!!
