Gday everyone had to share this story with you.I just got back from having a coffee with a good mate who gave up smoking apoprox 18 months ago.Was telling him proudly how i hadnt lit up for 5 days when all of a sudden he pulled a pack out and with guilt all over his face, lit up. he explained that he had " just one puff " a couple of weeks ago and found himself being dragged back into the nicotines web of destruction. This has only motivated me more not to have even one more puff ever!! The cravings are still at me but i just close my eyes, breathe in and ride the wave out. I always get a little shakey when I hear about relapse by a long-term quitter. I posted once about it and was told that most people tend to do this when they are relaxed and think it's ok to just have one. Makes me realize that even as this gets better, I will always remember how hard it was to get through each phase and how easy it could be to lose it. N.O.P.E. Super People quit and take it on again, not what I would do. It comes and goes, if your are smart you let it go and forget about it. Do not smoke -not even one puff. Thanks Wendy

It really is a "one day at a time" deal. Each new day means another battle, one that will be won! Thanks for the reminder Super! Each time I am tempted, I stop and think long and hard about it. I even imagine myself smoking sometimes and then I realize that just that one puff means I am a slave all over again. No thanks. I choose freedom! We are all one puff away.
