Just keep on muddling through, the mud gets shallower! You can do it, just remember that you do have the power and don't doubt your ability. Good job on coming this far, your quit is gaining momentum and soon you will be rolling down the mountain so fast you will be at 365 days before you know it. ps. Dorothy, nice quit date, quit buddy!! The good feelings are out there. Just keep walking and at it will get better. I felt really blah during the second week. I began to feel slowly better after that. Hi Denzil - I think that by the end of the 2nd week, we think that we should be cured (Hell week and heck week are over)...but there are still ups and downs along the way. Give yourself at least 3 - 4 weeks and you should see that the cravings have eased quite abit. I'm wondering about why you are on the 7 mg patch. 7 mgs is the patch that we "patch users" take to ease us into the nicotine free phase. While using patches definately helped me in my quit...I honestly don't think there is a whole lot of difference between taking 7 mgs and taking nothing. (In fact, I might have felt even a little bit worse on 7 mgs than on nothing at all...it was almost like abit of a tease) Did you start on a higher dosage or did your pharamacist/doctor recommend the 7 mg patch? Anyway, keep up the good work...it will get better. Hey all I've gone 2 weeks less 1 cig on day 7 and I'm still not feeling allthat great time will tell I guess I'm taking welbutrin and am on the patch 7 mg. to help stave off the cravings. I took 2 days off work to try and keep things sane during this time. Not everyone is happy about that but such is life. I am doing everything I can to make it work this time. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 230 Amount Saved: $107.25 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 0 Mins: 19 Seconds: 58

Thanks all Keeping busy is probably a very good idea. and the 7 mg patch is what I am using because the stronger ones I find too strong. will be stepping down from this to just the welbutrin after the weekend. You are right in the middle of what I have found is the most difficult period right now. I'm not using any meds or NRTs and I had to take the better part of a week off of work around that time...you're right, they weren't happy but you have to get your head straight. You should find things are better in another week...you will still have moments but I'm finding that work actually is helping now because you need to stay busy. The other advice I can give is to stay away from social situations where there are other smokers...I tried to go out to a club a couple of weeks ago and had to leave because the temptation was just too great. I have also found that posting on this site is very therapeutic...you will always find someone with a ready ear that has been where you are or is traveling the road with you. Stay strong and come back here often when you are tempted to lapse. Dorothy

Denzil... quitting is hard stuff and unfortunately, the cravings do not disappear over night. Think of all the years you smoked. Two weeks is really small in comparison. Take one step at a time and always remember NOPE. Not One Puff Ever. As long as you don't light that next cigarette you have got it made. Everyday you get through is another day closer to never feeling this way again. Congratulations. You are doing a great job! It really does get easier.
