Unless you want to go look at the demographics of every San Juan Island in the State of Washington and find out which one has a golden retriever named Luna. Anyway, I am from a little island in the San Juans. I teach Spanish and have a small import business from Guatemala. Passions are camping, gardening, traveling and river rafting. 58 years old. (first time over the big pond) :) Hi Danielle, When I first quit and Rain posted the �Want to know you all better� thread, it was a great read. I spent my entire summer here; and reading about where everyone lived and what their interests were helped me to 1. have something new on the site to read 2. feel closer to many group members and 3. see that there were people here from every part of the world fighting to win this battle against smoking. I believe the feeling of truly being part of a group of people who are interested in you as an individual is a huge part of the quitting process here at the SSC. Not cravin', never cavin'. Hi Jacko, we're glad you're back, too! I quit smoking here in the piney woods of North Florida. I'm a Florida native and have lived all over the state nearly all my life -- Miami the longest at 20 years. My part of the state is famous for....election shenanigans, the Florida State Seminoles, the FAMU Rattlers and their incredible marching band. We also see Burt Reynolds and Ted Turner around town now and then. OH, and George Clinton -- of Funkadelic fame lives here. I don't know if any of them smoke, but I don't! Being able to know who we are talking to on a daily and even hourly basis can do no harm. The benefits are numerous and huge, not the very least of which is providing a little peace in a world that sometimes seems to have gone mad, especially when we are in the throes of dealing with addiction. There is another site that has a great deal of rules. You can't even become a member of that site without following a particular protocol. And if you slip, even once, you are banned forever. I do hope that this site isn't becoming that way, because if it does I will return my Hall of Fame t-shirt and key chain.
