CUSTARD HEAD

for 18 år siden 0 29 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Its only bloody Tuesday and i feel like crap. Sorry about the turn of phrase everyone but its the softest tone i can use right now. Pulled through week one with not too much difficulty only one murder charge and three verbal assaults on blithering idiots to show for my trouble. But this week HOLY FISH CAKES! i am really fighting the demons away. How come when you need a stress free time when every thing should and usually dose, everyone around you gets there heads emptied and refilled with custard. Still off the woodbines but its a miracle. Might get myself a cattle prod and relieve my stress that way. MMMMMMMMMMMMM burnt custard. LOL......I laughed so hard at "Holy Fish Cakes". Alexander, hang in there. I had three great days in a row towards the end of heck week, and this morning I woke up hating everything and everyone. I even had harsh words with my husband...unfortunately, he was sleeping at the time, and didn't hear a word I said...., I have read from the more experienced quitters....we will have bad days, and we have to prepare ourselves for these bad moments, mornings and days. I made it through and I am feeling better now, but we are going to struggle. I tell myself that each of the struggle's that I successfully make it through makes me stronger for the next one. Remember, N.O.P.E. Our quits are so important. We have to remember that. Hi Alexander, I can well understand your rant, but no matter how hard it's been, you still have 9 days of your quit behind you and that's something you can really be proud of. Perhaps you might want to try listening to some of the hypnosis or relaxation CDs or tapes available. I have one by Paul McKenna called "Stop Smoking for Good, Part 2." When I start getting too edgy I play it and it settles me right down. Listening to his voice gives me something to focus my thoughts on and from there I can relax my body. Even after it's finished, I feel calm and less compelled to smoke. While you might not always be able to stop what you're doing and listen to a tape, it might help you the times you can. Good luck and continued success with your quit! I hope I'm not misquoting but when my anger and mood get the best of me I find it helps to quote MacBeth when he says something like, "FULL OF SCORPIONS IS MY MIND, DEAR WIFE!". You have to do this loudly and in the most affected british stage actor voice you can manage. Well...if only one murder charge and three verbal assaults...I'd say you are sailing along smoothly! It does get better - What are you doing to relieve stress (walks, gym, deep breathing, phoning people and deep breathing?) Have you rewarded yourself for 9 days of success? Don't worry - you will slowly travel from homicidal to blahs...but there will be good days coming your way too! I don't know...but I'm going to try the "Full Scorpions" thing on my hubby as soon as he gets home. He wasn't too keen on my little Orphan Annie routine............ Alexander, Good grief Louise it really does get easier the longer you go, but it is never a piece of cake. Hang in there you can do this. I need an interpreter. Is Bloody Tuesday an English holiday? Do you celebrate with fish cakes and custard for dinner? Alexander - DEEP Breathing will help you through this and many other stressful times during your quit. Read my post by doing a search called "I'm Taking a Breather" Trust me, it works. Fight hard, you're doing a terrific job.
