Dear Monica,
It hurts my heart for you to have to go through this trying experience. It hits close to home for me too. For now, my dad is still active. However, he has COPD and continues to smoke. His cough is painful to hear and I....well I just try not to think about it, knowing it is just a matter of time. I see myself in your shoes in the (not so) distant future. It's hard not to begin mourning now. I wish I knew how to 'fix' it. I know you feel the same.
You have my utmost respect for maintaining your quit in this difficult time, especially considering you are less than two months quit. Let's stay strong and let's not give the tobacco companies anything more than they've already received from our families. You are in my thoughts and I will continue to follow your progress so post often.
