40 Days -- A Spiritual Perspective

for 18 år siden 0 738 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well I quite enjoyed the long windedness, and if you really tried, you could make yours as long as any of mine! Hahahaha gotcha! The Promise Land is ever so much more than the fled from slavery that however attractive Egypt may look, from any perspective it still and will eternally be, slavery. We have escaped. Welcome to freedom. What a great thread. Peteg, I too felt 40 was a reliefe. Although I have still had a few struggles. I just knew at 40days I would succeed. There is something to holding on to the promises of the one upstairs. Moses was tired of fighting, but he never let go of the promise. I really felt like 40 was a bigger deal than 30. Alot of the great biblical refrences of hardship and getting over them are 40. You my friend are doing well. Just keep the faith and no worries.. Hey Pete! I really enjoyed your post. I know where you are coming from. I do not think my quit has been my quit alone. I have prayed long and hard about this. **quietly in an aside** Do you thing He has answered my prayers? I certainly hope so! Congratulations on those 40 days...I don't think you are ready to walk on water, but you're getting really good at treading on thin ice!!! ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 91 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,598 Amount Saved: $728 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 11 Mins: 3 Seconds: 43

What a wonderful thread, all of you. Pete, you do not suck and you are not a loser and you are not garbage and most of all you are not on your own. Even if none of us were here, you are not on your own. All you need do is remember the strength that you have been given, the power that has been granted to you, and all those blessings everyone is always blessing you with. (Achooo...bless you, Pete. They all add up!) I believe that we have been given a brain and a will to use. If we screw up, we screw up. But there is always a right path to step back on to. Sometimes we waver a bit on the edge of the path, but the path is always there and never moves. It is the foundation that is right there under us, next to us, all around us, and inside us. If we stumble a little, the path is still there. Whether we see it or not or remember it or not, it's still there. Congratulations to you and Monica for reaching 40 days! I hope today you can lower your arms a little (and your shoulders), take some deep breaths, and relax into the joy. Hello Peteg, Congraulations on Your 40 days of being Smoke Free, I can only think back when I was at 40 days, Have You ever heard of being on Cloud Nine, Well Friend, that is where I was at, Was so proud of myself for being Smokless, felt like a Peacock spreading His feathers, But this 40 days is not about me, for I've had my time in the spot-light, This is about You Peteg, And I'm proud of You for Your accomplishment, Keep up Your good quit, And I am glad You finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel, It took me 40 years to see the light at the end of the tunnel, That's how long I smoked those stinking cigerettes, But that's all behind me now, I promise that I will never smoke again, That is how much Confidence the People and this website has bestowed upon me, Confidence builds Positive Attitude in One's self, If You get it, Don't lose it, But it sounds like You got it already, I live in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Maybe We can have a reunion sometime in the early spring, Good Luck in Your journey, Smokless In Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1369 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 41,098 Amount Saved: $5859.32 Life Gained: Days: 323 Hrs: 19 Mins: 14 Seconds: 30
