Lost a four year quit about a year ago and am quitting again. I have had at least 4 failed attempts since I started again last year. Things are much different in my life since my good quit 5 years ago and I am having to really start all over. New triggers, new stresses, etc. Also now have 2 smokers in my house. Know all the "tricks", but need to relearn how to use them. Being here I'm sure will help; good place to turn when the triggers start ganging up on me. Am using the patch and wellbrutin with gum as a backup. Have a supply of "dum-dum" suckers, water, carrots and other small hand held foods. Little support at home except for the grandchildren, they really want me to quit and will keep on me about it (actually have for the last year). For the last year I've smoked off and on, some days full pack other days just a few....depends on what I was doing (drinking, working, golf, etc). Also depended on who I was hanging with, smokers vs non-smokers. I really don't have a problem going hours without a smoke, but then boom, a crave really hits....ouch. I need to relearn how to avoid, ignore those craves. Also need to avoid the smokers at home; other smokers are easy, but the ones at home are always there. I will be hanging around, maybe not talking much, but will defiantely be reading.
Papaal....
