Just got in from the doc's office. He thinks its acid reflux disease so he increased one of my meds and sent me for an x-ray just in case. He said he'll give me a call tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words of support. Hope everyone is well. :)Pat.

Hi, everybody. I know that I have spent the better part of the last 5 years or so wanting to quit smoking more than anything. One of the many driving forces for me, as I'm sure it is for most, is my health. About 3 months ago I developed this cough. You all know the kind. The one that sounds like a lung is going to fly out at any minute. Its primarily at night time now. Or anytime I lie down.
I called my doc and they're sqeezing me in first thing tomorrow morning. I was just wondering if anyone else had done this? Its just exhausting as I cannot sleep. I haven't slept in a week now. I try to doze in a recliner when I can. I would appreciate the input. Thanks. :(Pat.

Hi Pat, I'm really glad you are getting to the doc right away! I know how worrying this kind of medical problem can be, but just think positive and the fact that you already quit smoking will help enormously!
In the meantime, know that our thoughts and love are with you, and hopefully you can doze in the recliner until it's time to go to the doc in the morning.

ttin,
We recommend you seek the assistance of your doctor as you have done. He/she is the best authority to advise you on the root cause of this persistent cough. He/she will also be able to provide you with treatment for this cough so that you can finally get some shut eye.
Don't forget to brag about your quit tommorrow! 5 smoke free days is a wonderful accomplishment!
Danielle

I have that very thing.....I am on Prilosec....and if I miss the med and eat before bedtime....the symptoms surface.....we need to take better care of ourselves! :gasp:
good luck....and congratulations on quitting...cause that DOES help with acid reflux!
