Grace, I can't have one because I'm not willing to go back to my former level of consumption. I'm not willing to give up the days and weeks and months of hard work and effort that it took to get here. I know that if I had one, I might as well just give up everything positive in my life. I would be a junkie again and I would be so ashamed.
I just heard an interview with songwriter and singer Leonard Cohen, who gave up smoking five years ago. He said that every now and then, when someone lights up around him, he looks at it "with interest." I am willing to state that TEN years from now, I may "look at it with interest", but that's as far as it will go. I am a non-smoker, regardless of what thoughts might float by.
Thanks, Grace, for the opportunity to reinforce that.
Rusty :)
