WELCOME JAN 07 QUITTERS!!

I stop because my ex-boyfriend was a non-smoker(ex-smoker) and that it was always smelling fresh and really nice in his place and that eventually, I always had the impression to stink of cigarette and to have to constantly try to hide this fact/impression(?)... I stop because I will turn 30 in 2 weeks time and I already feel too often that I am completely dilapiding my life with this 15 years of heavy smoking. I hope it is going to work this time because I have been nearly constantly thinking about stopping in the last 9 years and I always wondered why I was still doing that when doing it... Reasons I am quitting: I just found out I have the beginning of macular degeneration, at age 50. Photography is a passion of mine. I can't do it if I'm blind. I like to exercise and be outdoors... the smoke finally caught up with me that I wasn't breathing so well to do the things I want. I'm tired of hiding in the closet I'm tired of rushing from one place to the next so I can smoke I'm tired of thinking about smoking I want to travel overseas and not worry about my next damn smoke I want to live!

Doesn't it feel nice to know that there are so many people that do understand what you're going through!!? I'm quitting for my health mainly. I've been a diabetic for 18 years and I know that If I want to live, I have to QUIT! My husband and son are very supportive and I'm quitting for their health too! If we all encourage each other, I'm sure we'll make it!! Great Topic! I need the help today! My name is Jeff and I have to quit for my health and for my family. I have a son, Logan, due on January 11th and I want to be smoke free when I cut his umbilical cord. I am tired of giving the Tobacco Giants my money in exchange for declining health. I don't want lung cancer like my grandfather died of. I don't want yellow teeth, smelly clothes, smelly car, or sallow skin. I don;t want to be a slave to an expensive habit. I don't want to be a junkie anymore. I want to do another 500 mile bike ride like I did a few years ago. I want to be in great health. I want to be a role model for Logan. We can all do it if we support each other like this! I am seeing such great attitudes, with great resolve and determination with everyone's quits! Let's keep the ball rolling along with as many positive vibes as we can muster because that is one major part to the quit! I applaude all quitters and I also applaude all the newbies ! Stay strong - STAY QUIT ! Hi All, As I was perusing the site this morning I noticed there are A LOT of Jan 2007 brand spankin new quitters. I really want us all to be successful, so I think all those new quitters should post their quit reasons here, for themselves and each other. I am so proud of our ever expanding non smoking community, hang on all, the ride starts out pretty rough but every second and every moment you hold out brings you closer to FREEDOM!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 684 Amount Saved: $300.9 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 15 Mins: 42 Seconds: 2
