How much does it cost you?

Thanks everyone for curbing my curiousity on costs, etc. It sure was interesting to see what we've paid. So many times before I told myself I had to quit cause of the cost...but, like a junkie I always found money for smokes. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 383 Amount Saved: $171 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 45 Seconds: 47

I used to buy cigarettes by the carton at about $34.00 per carton, which would figure $3.40 a pack. I was cheap and bought the generic version of the gum, and used it 4 days. I didn't want to spend money on it either! Laughed at your 1/4 patch!! That sounds like something I would do, yet we forked out the money for smokes and thought nothing of it. Well, we thought of it, but did it anyway! I don't know about the cost of the patch here. Someone else can tell you, I'm sure. Can't believe the price difference on the smokes though! Trace, I'm from Ontario, too. Brampton. Last pck. of 25 I bought, I paid 8.00. I just bought a pack of 14 patches for 34.97. They are the generic brand but I actually like them. For me, they seem to stay on better than the brand name ones. My pharmacist gave me a good tip for helping patches to stay on. Use some rubbing alcohol on a cottonball. It gets rid of creams, etc. and makes the area completely clean and dry. Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 258 Amount Saved: $72 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 23 Mins: 14 Seconds: 15

Here in NC a pack is $3.60 for name brands and as low as $2.60 for generic brands. The patch is about $40.00 for two weeks supply, and the gum is $30.00 for 40 pieces. I work in a Dr.'s office so I got the wellbutrin samples for free and I have checked with the pharmacy on the price of Chantix and it is $108.00 for the first month. It is amazing to see the price difference in different parts of the country. Have always wanted to visit CANADA glad that once I do make it there I will be a non-smoker. Here in Okla. $22.40 a carton at the smoke shops. That's not generic either. My meter is going up slowly compared to some. I spent $155.00 for 2 sessions of hypnosis. Best money that I ever spent. Down under in New Zealand I was paying $11.60 per pack of 25 cigarettes. Patches are around $30.00 per pack of 7. however the government will subsidise them if you register for a quit scheme and it only costs you $20.00 for eight weeks supply !!! I used this scheme twice before quitting cold turkey this time. Generally it seems that the price of Patches in New Zealand is much lower than in the northern hemisphere. I would suggest that if you are interested, check out a New Zealand online pharmacy and buy your patches that way. If you consider the monetary exchange rate I think you will find you will be saving quite considerably. cheers KiwiKeith My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/29/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,948 Amount Saved: $1357.2 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 16 Mins: 35 Seconds: 39

I'm from Niagara Falls, Canada. When I quit smokes were $55.00 a carton. Patches were around $22.00 at Wal-Mart, but then I found them at Zehrs for $9.98. Check around for the patches because prices do vary.
