Wow I've been looking for your post all morning!! Good to hear!! Hey Cheryl, do you ever drive around while at work..I mean like for a break or to eat lunch? I just wondered because I often leave for one break at 11...to have a smoke No one here knows I smoke, since everyone knew when I quit awhile back, I can't let them know...I know it's chicken sh** of me, but oh well. Anyway, when I drive around I never feel any panic, AT all..weird, huh? Also there is a decisive difference for me...regarding the mornings being harder than afternoons. Is that true for you also? Just wondering... That's great that you're back on the bicycle, peddling away!! ;)

LOL So am I on the net all day. Glad though that just me and my co-worker are in the network room and NOT in a cube somewhere....Since he's salaried and I'm not, he gets to most of the extra stuff either late, or on the weekends. They rarely want to pay overtime for me to come in and help. Suits me fine, though! :)

I'm in the parts dept of a car dealership. I work the tech counter. Just about everything is web-based which explains why I'm on the computer all day.

I see....well hmmmm there does not seem to be any notable trigger other than the few you mentioned... Guess it's just a fluke!!! What I do is NOT stressful, usually. I am a network admin for a small co....lately it's been really slow....*yawn* but it can sometimes be hectic...but not stressful! How about you?

Nah, wasn't worried at all about being late. I don't know what it was. There was one car ahead of me when the light turned red so I was second in line. Next thing I know theres 2 behind me and a couple next to me (I was in the left turning lane), so basically I was sandwiched in. Normally if theres an opening somewhere its not even an issue for me. Plus its overcast (suppose to rain) which, like you, makes me a little a little nervous as well. BTW: What kind of work do you do? Do you have a stressful job?

Is it possible that your stop made you feel like you were now running late? Or did you have plenty of time to get to work? Or does it even really matter at your work? I mean, for me, I can get there anytime..they don't care really. And I see you already HAVE a great attitude for tomorrow. I often think that positive affirmations go a long way in fighting this. I'll be thinking about you... :)

Nothing out of the ordinary really happened. I stopped at the McDonalds that's in the shopping center near my apts. Had to stand there for about 15 minutes cause the manager was doing ALL the work. Everyone else was new and they didn't have a clue as to what was going on. I never got mad or anything because the guy was working really hard and trying his best. Left out of their and headed for the light and BOOM...it happened. Thanks for the support and the advice cat. I will keep all of it mind because you know what? Its NOT going to happen again tomorrow. I refuse to let it.

So sorry for your episode this morning, Cheryl! Actually, I read your post before I left work...at first I wasn't going to, but then I thought I would challenge myself. But I wanted to wait until I got to work to reply. Was there anything different about this morning? Such little things tend to make me insecure. This morning was darker than yesterday, so I hesitated a bit. But YOU know it's still time to get back on the bicycle. Besides playing a favorite song of mine over and over, I have been forcing myself, when I can, to gently push my head up against the headrest. It seems to be calming to me. (most of the time)It also helps with my breathing...when I am really panicked I am hunched over and it doesn't help me to breathe well. Further, congratulate yourself...You didn't get out of the car.......AND you made it to work. Even when I am miserable..I still try and acknowledge that I DID it. I keep telling myself that I am a good driver and that helps, as well. I know I posted this somewhere else here, but I remembered a little poster I had made for my daughter when she was growing up.... "Courage is NOT the absence of fear, courage is doing what you need to do, DESPITE your fear." I think I have adopted this as my new mantra. Hang in there and know, that each new day is an opportunity to gain confidence. Celebrate your past successes and use them to build on to move forward...accept that you had a minor setback, but that doesn't have to continue. Baby steps... ;)

Thanks for the input Trish. Your experience with the lights is EXACTLY like mine. I too go really slow if it turns red hoping to limit some of the time that I'm actually sitting there. I've also run many a yellow light (which turns red once I get under it) just to avoid sitting. Its so stupid because as soon as I start moving again I'm fine. I don't mind the racing heart or the shaky leg....what bothers me the most is that creeping anxiety feeling that slowly works its way thru my body. I guess thats what they call "the feeling of dread." I'm fine now, but of course I'm going to be worried tomorrow going thru there. Its the main intersection out of my apts and I've never panicked there before.
