When you reply to a thread, there's a set of buttons underneath the window where you type. The third one from the right looks like a little earth/globe with a few links of a chain underneath it.
If you hover your mouse pointer over that button, it is identified as "Insert Hyperlink."
If you click on it, a little dialogue box opens and asks you for two things:
1.) Text to be shown for the link. For example, you could type in "Click here," or maybe the name of the thread, which is what I did for the example here; I typed in "Hope Springs Eternal."
2.) The actual URL, including the http:// that is at the beginning of a web address. What I did was to go to the other thread first, right-clicked on the "Address" box at the top of the screen, and chose "Copy." Then when I got to this dialogue box, I right-clicked in the space and chose "Paste."
This process generates some code that will show in your reply. It doesn't LOOK like the link it creates, but it does work.
