Thanks everyone for all your hope. This has not been as easy as I thought. I am not doing well - I think it is because my decision was made so compulsively with no preparation in advance. I have been all over the map. I can see now that willingness is not enough, I need to use the program tools thoroughly. Similar to the program I work to stay clean, like going to treatment, going to meetings, asking for help, I need to take direction from those who have gone before me and the suggestion I keep seeing on this site is to go through the program laid out here. I am so frustrated with myself and I need to realize that just like any other drug, I need to accept my powerlessness and seek help from others. I feel embarrassed but I know that it's pride and ego and I need to be humble and seek direction. And ask for help. HELP! Colleen

Nice to see you, Just4Today! And tackling two major addictions at the same time is tough. That you decided to put the smoking addiction on the back-burner for a month is understandable. But now that you're tackling that one too, we'll be here to share our hope with you... as you share yours with us. :) -A freind of Bills. Well, I completed my 28 day program and have been drug and alcohol free for more than 100 days. But as you can see by my meter I relapsed with the nicotine. It actually happened my first day in rehab and its only today that I feel ready and willing to do this again. I feel like I have laid a firm foundation and have learned so many tools in treatment that I can now apply to my nicotine addiction. I won't ask you to wish me luck cause luck is not what's going to keep me abstinent. Today I have F.A.I.T.H. (For Addicts It Takes Hope) So if I were to ask for anything I would ask that you share your hope with me! Have a wonderful day! Good to be here!
