Try to avoid the passive smoke, it really hurts and might be the main cause of your breathing problem. It's not happening to me that much anymore...I'm thinking maybe it was just the day. Probably a combination of factors...pollen counts, being in the smoky bar, etc. etc. I have good days and bad days. Hopefully when I get further into my allergy shot regimen I will have more good days than bad! ~Nurse My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 84 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,260 Amount Saved: $378.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 22 Mins: 56 Seconds: 11

Thats pretty scarey. you mgiht want to get checked for sleep apnea. Are you usually tired even having a good nights rest? That could be a sign.

If you use an inhaler than maybe you have asthma?....well, in any case you need to contact your docotor------ whenever you are needing to use your inhaler more often your doctor should be notified....If Something is going on then the doc can take a listen to ya....

Kita, I think it may be normal. I had the same thing. Panic attacks...rapid pulse... then that settled down and it kind of turned into depression. The depression spells last 3 to 5 days... then I seem to pull out big time... only to go back into it. I think our systems are all mixed up and our brains need to heal too. Just keep an eye on it. I have been told some good advice......and that is,....... if it doesn't resolve see the doctor. Hi Nurse, I am not having the exact same problem but have been having panic attacks all of a sudden. I find I can't breathe and my heart races and when it is over I am exhausted. Maybe out bodies are just trying to adjust to being smoke free. I hope someone has an answer for you. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 955 Amount Saved: $305.5 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 15 Mins: 28 Seconds: 22

Nurse, This disease can cause havoc on our bodies! It is important to remember that smoking can mask problems. If this persists, than check with your doctor to rule our anything medical. Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.

Hey, So I'm past 2 months into my quit. Last night and this morning, I woke up gasping for air and had to hit my inhaler (I think it was 3 times I woke up). I had spent some time yesterday in a smoky bar. I wondered if being in that bar for a couple hours would do it? However, it also happens when I eat meals. I've gained a few pounds since I quit, but nothing earth-shattering. I'm wondering if anyone else has had these same symptoms since they quit smoking (oh by the way, my lungs were bad before this anyway...I've carried an inhaler for years).
