Even after this long, old Nic still tries to trick me. He whispers, very faintly now, "It is not fair that she can go outside and smoke. She still has that smoke screen on life. Wouldn't that be easier to have that smoke screen back up, so you don't have to fight anymore?"
Since it is so faint now, I immediatly reconize it for what it is worth, and quickly kick it to the curb. I realize that I am not quite fighting it, but more like still learning.....
Yes, it would be nice to not fight, to have some sort of emotional screen that would, for some odd reason, make things seem better. Even if it really isn't. I miss that.
Oh well, I will continue to walk forward.
