Hi Pam,
Everything is fine thanks. Closing in on 3 years on the 18th and that is something that I couldn't envisage when I started back in 2004. At that time, it really was a case of "I can do this but just one day at a time" and as you know very well, once I got going, nothing was going to deflect me from my goal. N.O.P.E. After gritting my teeth early, the days quickly turned to weeks and now the months fly by! Smoking? History!!!
I know I've said this often but for all the philosophising done here which is good and fun and thought-provoking; for me, this quitting lark boils down to just one simple statement. "You must want to quit more than you want to smoke". Anyone reading this, think about that statement good and hard before moving on. You must want to be quit MORE than be smoking. If one has that as a mindset and do not allow anything to mess with it, one WILL succeed. If not, one will always struggle as one continually negotiates with oneself and opens up the possibility of relapse almost daily!
I started this thread because today I am very optimistic about the chances of all the new quitters here as the environment at the site right now is very ripe for success. Keep up your great quit!
Mercy,
Just keep doing it and you will arrive at theses stats one day, believe me.
LCE,
I know what you mean!!
