Stick to it,
This has been some kind of year, with all the ups and downs. Learning how to get through a situation without smoking. I know I really had to stay on my toes. I have had to use self-talk more than any other tool. You might say I have learned to communicate with myself. I have learned so many new things about myself. Its almost like watching the old personality fade away. I like the my new self.
I think it is wonderful that I don't have to plan my trips or visits around cigarettes anymore. I had no idea I spent so much time smoking or planning how I would find time to smoke. I missed so much because of my addiction. Now the days just flow, and smoking is just a fleeting memory.
Don't get me wrong, I know not to get too smug in my quit. I know how quickly something can happen. I know there will be situations I will still have to go through, but I don't worry about them until they come. That is when I do all of my self talk. Its almost like autopilot.
I still get excited when I see new people become SSC members. Good to hear from you fellow Ash Kicker... :)
