Just checkin in to see how everyone is doing. Life is great! All my quit buddies are rapidly approaching two years and that is just so amazing to me. A lot of you have been part of my life for the last couple of years and despite all the issues, it has been two of the most productive years of my life. Call me sentimental... I just like to see the old gang once in a while. Hope all is well and life is good. What a great homecoming thread....Congratulations to all of you that have posted, good work quitters!!!. It just felt so homey to read all of your messages and get news. I did not realize how much you/your posts meant to me until just now reading your replies and it brought back so many memories of the hours I spent here, getting support/ being validated "No. you are not NUTS" this is a normal stage of the quit etc etc. being encouraged and felling a whole lot of strength from all of my buddies out there. Thanks...YOU All ROCK...YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!!! BIG TRIPLE TOYOTA KICK and (((((((((((HUGS))))))))to you all. Yes I am still a non smoker...sometimes think I would like one but know that I will not pick one up....now I have to concentrate on losing some of the extra 'well you know what'......all in all feel great. Two years and smoking is not an issue. Passing thoughts, occasionally, craves like "Gosh I wish I could afford and eat all the lobster I wanted!" Weight gain is an issue- wish I had been more careful during my quit. Hard to take it off. Hi Lady. Thanks for starting this thread. I haven't been here in months so I'm glad for the hint to check it out. When I logged on I was amazed at my achievement. After hard core smoking for 25 years I am now almost two years quit, more than 2 months life gained and almost 5K richer (don't know where that money is - if anyone finds it please let me know). Quitting smoking is one of the greatest achievement of my life and sometimes I just can't believe I did it. My life is so much better without that constant need. I still think about smoking, still have the occasional hankering for one but overall I have conquered it. When I do wish for one, I think about an old post from here - I'd rather be someone who sometimes wants a smoke than someone who always needs it. I don't like the 10 pounds I'm carrying around but I'm sure that's better than emphysema and lung cancer. And what an example for my child!! Quitting smoking opened my eyes to the relationships in my life -- pros and cons -- and made me more aware of ME. Should have happened years ago. I am well. I am smoke free. I am thankful to the community of people who let me read bits of their lives and struggles to make me stronger. Hi Lady, what a co-incidence! I happened to have a spare few minutes and came back to have a look for old times sake. Like you, still smoke free, still mad and very happy! Remember, a cigarette is a tube with a fire at one end and a fool at the other! mad englishMan My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/8/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 497 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,482 Amount Saved: 2485 Life Gained: Days: 81 Hrs: 1 Mins: 28 Seconds: 30

I haven't been around much. I really didn't think there would come a time when I would move away from this site but it happened. Quitting smoking is the greatest thing we did and I am so glad I had the support of the people around here. There are so many that I wouldn't have made it without. MC mentioned on another thread that it is good to see posts from the people we quit with and that we should do it more often. So, that gave me the idea to rally the troupes and see how everyone is doing. What do you say gang? How about a check in and let everyone know how you are doing and what is going on in your Smoke Free life? All is well here with me. Still smoke free. I think I finally climbed out of that pity pot :) . The boys are great, my daughter got married, and life is good. I have begun to date and am only talking to non-smoking men! It is an exciting time for me. I am living my life and trying to have some fun. Looking forward to hearing from the rest of you.
