I've faced some trying times since I stopped smoking and during those have not really wanted to light up. Haven't really thought till afterwards. Then thought how amazing it was and have felt so good about that but then at really quiet times, suddenly, there will be that big kick in the stomach again. Just from nowhere. It's so disconcerting that it can creep up on you like that. Well done. Thanks Phil - and I am definitely keeping an eye out for him sneeking up behind me when I'm not looking, - definitely can't afford to get too cocky about this little but of rest from the onslaught of craves and Sam, yes you are right...and I know exactly where I'll kick him if he dares to raise his ugly head lol!! Thanks for the reminder Tom that the junkie still lurks just waiting for an opportunity I'm not going to give it... You ARE totally AWESOME Ex Roller ! You ARE doing it ! I'm sooooooooo pleased for you.. and you must feel absolutely great ! As Tom said though, keep your guard up at all times.. coz 'IT' is a deceiving and manipulative thing.. so when/if 'IT' comes along you kick him HARD against the curb girl ! So happy for you.. you have a fantastic attitude ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/23/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 200 Amount Saved: $72.50 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 3 Mins: 53 Seconds: 21

Good for you Ex Roller. You're in an oasis amongst the craves. I too did the cold turkey quit and it was a little better than two weeks before I got a break and there's only been a few rough spots in the road since. It's like you said, psychological. The junky is not gone though; don't make that mistake. Always be prepared to deal with the junky. Have a good plan for dealing with IT when IT shows up. Otherwise, enjoy the moment and the day. You're smoke-free and that's the way it's suppose to be. Yesterday my 'psychological' craves were fairly noticeable (I say pychological as I have been totally nicotine free since 72 hours after my quit day)... Anyhow, last night I was watching TV and it suddenly dawned on me, where are the craves? I was having zero craves - and that went on all evening!!...and guess what, zero today as well, and very little time even thinking about smoking!! I know it's early days and those craves can suddenly appear from nowhere many days/weeks/months even years down the line...but wow, - and I am fully prepared they may return tomorrow and be as boringly irritating as they were yesterday - but hey ho - let's enjoy this liberating feeling as long as it lasts!! Yeah this cold turkey thing is full of surprises - how kewl is that for kewlness?!!
