Thanx for your reply rhonnie.
I agree with you Peter about the alcohol. If there's some extra party I would drink one or two drinks, but nothing more than that, or I wouldn't drink at all(depends on my mood).
I work in a VERY busy club and crowds are sometimes what gets me worked up so sometimes work is TERRFIYING for me but I agree...people watching (especially drunk people) is very amusing and does help somewhat. I am also very lucky to have very supportive co workers some of whom understand PD and are a great help gettting thru the attacks. Distracting yourself can help greatly at warding off an attack. A word of caution about antacids, use them carefully. They can cause problems in themselves if they are used to heavily. If you are having heartburn, reflux or other excessive acid related problems talk to your doctor about a proton pump inhibitor (Protinix or Nexium). DO NOT use tagamet (cimetidine) if you are on Xanax or similar meds without talking to your doctor first. It can affect the way xanax and similar meds are absorbed by your body. As much as I hate to preach staying away from alcohol has helped me also.
Hehe, I must try the laughing at ppl on the dance floor trick :p . What are tums anyway (sorry english isn't my native language)
Thanx for an advice and take care.
Hi endless yes this happens to me also only I feel severly nauseas but don't actually puke. I take some tums to settle the nausea and do deep breathing while I'm in the situation that's making me feel anxious. Distraction also helps me (engaging in conversation with the person beside me or laughing at people on the dance floor lol) Hope this helps
Sometimes when I'm out at a bar or a caffee with friends for a bit longer time, I get pretty stressed and I start feeling sick (meaning I have to go to the toilet to puke). After that my hands are shaking, I coldsweat..etc.
I know why it happens, but I don't know how to make it go away.
Does anyone of you have the same expirience and what do you do about it?
Thanx
Take care
