Sure it's taxing and trying to quit using nicotine but the is'nt the end gain worth it. I believe you when you say you don't miss smoking. As far as not thinking about it " why concern yourself with the past" thats a dead thing. You are now a nonsmoker. Smoking never did a thing for you and believe me you are better to bad trying again does'nt get it . ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 135 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,430 Amount Saved: $1,350.00 Life Gained: Days: 30 Hrs: 21 Mins: 31 Seconds: 0
Take a moment to pay tribute to yourself for a job exceedingly well done. Admit it, you are feeling great, youre a tough independent person and you are a hero.
Cool! I don't think anyone has a right to challenge how one person processes the quit over another. Several times my attitude and perspective changed during the quit and with each change my quit became "better" (easier?). What I have been through is what was necessary for "me" to maintain "my" quit. We are a diversified group and we all process things differently. That being said, your statement above sums it up for all of us. We do feel great and we are tough independt people! We are all also heros because not only did we quit, but we help others quit too! Great post Stickin! It is taxing and challenging to stop smoking however given the desire, can do attitude, NRT, coping skills and support group you can quit smoking. Smokes are not a buddy of yours; it is so odd that I use to think that way. Would you believe me, if I said to you that I dont miss smoking? I know of many x-smokers and I have asked a few of them if they missed lighting up. A common answer that they gave is, they dont think about it. Oh then, they dont dwell, and smoking is not an option. Where have we heard that before? Is that how we can success also? I guess you can say they have grown away from it, have departed and as it should be. A phase we are just beginning to grow out of ourselves on the journey to join up with our x smoking colleagues. I dont think in any way that I had a particularly easy quit however, I kept in under wraps, tied in up in knots early on, never to give it the upper hand. I have felt quit for a long, long time now many, many months. I have nearly forgotten what smoking was like. See as it should be. Im trying to remember just what it did for me. I understood and believed that if other people could quit well than I most certainly could quit as well. Thats it and thats all there is to it. Im no better or worse, I am just me. Take a moment to pay tribute to yourself for a job exceedingly well done. Admit it, you are feeling great, youre a tough independent person and you are a hero.
