Do you want to be quit? It is the only question to answer and the only thing you need to do is not smoke.
I understand what you are feeling because I have been there. My husband and I have tried to quit together, and we have done it apart. I hoped we would have a fight so one of us would cave, and eventually it would happen. Those emotions though will come up eventually, whether it be wrapped around the smoking/quitting issue, or during another argument. They need to be dealt with, but smoking will not deal with them. It will not help.
My husband is still smoking, and as much as I wish he would quit I will not make an issue of it. I am quietly quitting, and I will be an example. I am showing him that it is doable. I hope he will eventually see that this is a good thing, and make the decision himself. That is all I can do. For now, though, this is about me, and you know what...it is about time I did something just for me. All those feelings of anger, jealousy, abandonment, just disappear when I tell myself that I am loved and that I believe in myself. And you know what....he can just go jump in the lake!!!!
