You want to talk about pathetic? Picture being the bright old age of 20 in a big city, no job, no family (but a roof over your head). You are married, have a baby, and not much more than that going for you. Take your infant to the park while everyone is at work so you can ask passerby's if they can spare a cigarette? However, you wouldn't ever go to a place like public assistance because afterall, you don't need any handouts and you do have your pride! Times were just a little tough getting going.
So much learned that when that same baby is 2 she eats jelly sandwiches or mac and cheese for dinner because you can't afford much else. However, you aren't ever out of smokes.
And to think... I had no idea I was an addict!
