Never get caught up in the moment

I too have an old friend I haven't seen in awhile. I told her I had quit smoking and she said she had started smoking once in a while. I could'nt help but tell her just how addictive nicotine is and it's nothing to be playing with. She said she can smoke when she wants to and quit at will. Sometimes she only smokes one or two a week. Well, that is just how I started and it lasted 46 years. I'll just stay with the not one puff ever plan and hope she quits. Why would anyone want to start smoking in thier fifties? Why would anyone want to start at all? Everyone knows SMOKING WILL KILL YOU. Thanks for sharing Sue's story. Only goes to show you that N.O.P.E. means just that. It is a good reminder. I had a conversation with Sue, a women in my group, and I told her that I quit smoking 1- 1/2 years ago. She was really surprised that I had quit and said she had no idea. She said you must be a man of steel. (Funny how people think, its not that bad, I felt like saying). Sue told me that she flew back to Chicago two months ago to be with her family and she said all of them smoked and smoked like smoked stacks. So Sue had a couple cigarettes herself each day she was there. She said they make her feel dizzy. She also told me that she began smoking a couple a day at home but has to hide the fact from her husband. I said Sue, I didnt know you smoked! She said she quit 15 years ago and prior to that she smoked for 20 years. She now is in the process of quitting; she did ask if I had any more patches lying around. I guess Sue just got caught up in the moment and thought she would be just fine. We will never be fine with a smoke so except this for fact. Why would anyone care about having a smoke anyway? It is just a short, no very short lift that is over in 5 and then you want another an hour latter. Do you remember how it use to be? Think about it!
