New Here

for 20 år siden 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hello everyone, I too am new here. Not new to panic nor agoraphobia though. I have basically been indoors for the past 3 years. I do take meds to help control it, but it just seems to be bigger than me and the meds. I went to the grocery store this morning with my husband and completely fell apart, crying and sobbing until he got me home. He is incredible, he takes such good care of me. But, I'm tired of this, I've had panic since age 19, which I dealt with without meds. Just the past 3 years have been horrific. Thanks for listening. :)

Yankee, my tummy remains upset even when I am not anxious. I also have acid reflux which swings wildly out of control when I am anxious. My suspicion is that we continue to feel ill because body chemicals (hormones, enzymes, tummy acids, etc.) remain in turmoil for awhile after we have our attacks. I guess its like throwing a rock in a pond, the ripples stay for awhile after the rock sinks. I take more antacids at this time and drink chamomile tea or tea with ginger to help calm my tummy. Believe it or not, after all these years of on/off panic my body has learned that when I drink this tea or eat toast it triggers everything to smooth out. YEA!!! Of course, focusing on this board helps too ;p Rachele

It is nice to know there are other people out there like me. Does anyone else have the physical symptoms on and off all day even when they don't feel particuarly anxious? This has been going on all summer. That's part of what scares me. I feel nauseous and my stomach feels funny most of the time. Then I am constantly focusing on that. I try and keep as busy as possible, but then in the middle of keeping busy I feel this sense of sick coming back. UGGH! I dread waking up in the morning because I know I have a whole day of this ahead of me.

you sound like me. Sigh. I take the Xanax as a means to stop the panic attack but it definantly should not be used as our meds. Are you taking anything else? I have tried a few, but it seems that my panic is always under the surface and YES, I do wake in the middle of the night in panic. I also fret over the feelings so much I am in a constant cycle. I have found that I MUST keep continually busy and focused so that I dont have time to think of it. The end result of that is exhaustion and then back into the panic realm. Just so you know...your not alone.

Yankee, It sounds like you definately have the symptoms of anxiety. I am very familiar with the feelings you explained. Xanax is good for anxiety but most of the time its only taken as needed in addition to an SSRI or something that you take everyday. You may want to talk to your dr. about giving you zoloft, paxil, or something else to use as an everyday med.

I seem to be dealing with anxiety and panic. I feel sick most of the day...since the end of May. Doctors feel it is anxiety and I'm sure they are right. The problem is I'm afraid to go many places with my family and do many of the things I used to enjoy doing because I feel like ****. I think I actually had a panic attack the other night. I woke up in the middle of the night, shaking, sick to my stomach, and hot all over. I thought I was going to die. The problem is that these physical symptoms are always there to some degree. My stomach seems to be upset all the time. Then, I get anxious about that which only makes me feel worse. I need to know if there is anyone out there with a similar experience. I have taken Xanax (.25) but that doesn't seem to do much except make me drowsy. How do I get out of this vicious cycle? I worry about the physical symptoms and the worrying about them makes me more anxious. HELP!
