Yeah, John, I know it would be ideal not to use anything at all. I've got a good quit going here and I'm not really struggling with cravings. Possibly my search for a few other distractions is a way of weaning myself from using chew toys. I dunno, i just sort of deal with it as it comes along and I'd sooner shove a matchstick in my mouth than think about what it is this junkie inside me is telling me to do, then I'll work a while, eat a few grapes, work a while, have a cup of coffee, work, chew a match, work, drink water, work, Altoid...and the days just keep going by and I don't miss tobacco a bit....... YAY I DON'T SMOKE NO MORE! I hadn't heard that, John! I seriously would have killed some poor co-worker or fellow motorist without my coffee straws! Of course, that was before I knew anything about balcony rewards to de-stress & beat the craves! Way better than coffee straws! Careful on that, I read somewhere that you should not substitute with straw, imitation cigarette, toothpick etc. It actually prolongs the cravings. Think it was published by the American Heart Association quite sometime ago.

Greger, You are my hero. To quit smoking and dipping for nearly THREE WEEKS is amazing. I could never do straws but I ate a lot of pretzel sticks - well, not so much ate but mowed through  Licorice was good and now I'm a bit proponent of oranges. They take a while to get to so it gives your hands something to do, you get to use your new senses of smell and taste and they are good for you. What about grapes or soybeans (edamame)? There are all kinds of low-cal options out there. All the best My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1125 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 22,500 Amount Saved: $5,062.50 Life Gained: Days: 85 Hrs: 21 Mins: 35 Seconds: 59

OK, kelly, I'll tell you. It's a water bottle with the nozzle-type top that you kind of suck on. It seems to be more satisfying than the regular kind.
