JDK Thread #13

New, thread new week. Ship week is finally here. Yippee! :) Sue, we'll see about a new photo :) I am sure something can be arranged. I have no tie-dye shirts though so it might be a normal attire photo :) Aloha, blushing? You bet! I'm guessing anyone who starts from JDK Thread #1 will not feel so bad about their quit. Thats a good thing as I am all for seeing people blossom into happy non-smokers! Gen, maybe the new photo should be me in water wings! :) :) Nice to see you. My newest and biggest challenge by far is attempting to continue my quit without my quit buddy. She's been smoking a full two weeks now, but only very recently has she made it obvious. She gave it a good run compared to our previous attempts. I'm going to write a little note to her to thank her for all her help along with a box of choccies and a promise that i will be there whenever she needs support. I never give up the hope that she will join me once again soon. I do have a lot of fear right now as whenever we have quit together before, we always start smoking within a short time of knowing the other is smoking. This means that by the end of next week I should be back outside with the gang smoking 25 a day. So this week I will be attempting my hardest to break the cycle by any means possible. I'll start by making my daily promise. I promise to the SSC that I WILL NOT SMOKE today. You probably guessed that I am dealing with a whole load of new junkie thoughts. The latest and strongest is 'Why are you sitting there miserable and not smoking when you're quit buddy is the happiest shes been in a long time, and the most relaxed she has been in a long time? You could join her and be as happy as you once were'. The best riposte to the junkie I have come up with is 'Relief from giving up the fight against an addiction is short lived. You CAN have happiness and still be quit.' Anyway, just thought I would keep you updated as to the quitting world of kev. I always feel better after writing :) Until next time.
