We do get summer up here in the frozen North, a short one but summer nonetheless. As far as having fun goes, that's all we Canucks do! We're always drinking beer, playing hockey & eating bacon. Doesn't that sound like fun to you? hahahaha absolutely love this one.( what a sense of humour) !!! Marie Don't smoke it's bad for you ........... No "possibly you can" talk, Kev, I thought we covered that. WTH do you think you've been doing for 55 freakin' gorgeous days???? You ARE doing it so it must be more than possible, even more than highly probable. In fact I would say there is a 347% probablity that you have quit smoking! We do get summer up here in the frozen North, a short one but summer nonetheless. As far as having fun goes, that's all we Canucks do! We're always drinking beer, playing hockey & eating bacon. Doesn't that sound like fun to you? Keep doing what you're doing, Kev, I am just more impressed with you & your huge quit every day! John, You have a way with the ladies me thinks :) Sue, funny you should ask. I've been writing for hours and hours and hours this one message. Its just a lot shorter (like 1500 words shorter) than the original. :) Kelly, you are a breath of fresh air! Yes you are spot on with the rewards thing. You put it a much better way than I did. Unhooked, glad you kept the new picture. I would have said 25 and not a day older. You always look like you're having fun in the pics. And it is always sunny. There was me thinking 6ft of snow all year round :) :) My aunt lives in Edmonton and she was always talking about snow shoes and ploughing the drive in her letters. So maybe thats where I got that mental picture from. Of course, the wildlife in Canada are extremely intelligent. Ever heard of a bear or penguin writing on a stop smoking site? Well, I spent hours writing an essay about rocks, quit buddies, over analysis et al, but decided to delete it all and just write... I would like to thank you all for convincing me that I can possibly (even with my supersized junkie) carry on the non smoking way without my real life quit buddy, for not using words like 'No hope in hades' or at least not posting that :) It may be like pushing a jumbo jet up mount Everest but the good news is that it only takes a minor bit of encouragement sometimes to get me pushing again. Now so what secret does this Victoria have? She's not a closet smoker is she? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 55 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,375 Amount Saved: 231.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 22 Mins: 21 Seconds: 47

Kelly, your reward should at least include a visit to the following stores at the mall: Godiva Bath Bed and Beyond Yankee Candle Victoria Secret ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 124 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,100 Amount Saved: $434.00 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 4 Mins: 58 Seconds: 31

Kelly, if you feel rewarded, then you are. Whatever works for you. It's an excellent idea to put your quit money aside for a big reward. Would you let me know if you see mine anywhere? I DID notice! Thanks, Kev! I did have the grandkiddo this weekend. And, I did play hookie from work today...and probably tomorrow. {evil laugh}. Honestly, I have read a lot of what the members here write about rewards. I think I have a problem because I've always been one to "reward" myself whenever I so desired. As for rewarding myself for not smoking, I constantly tell myself I am doing a great job. I am constantly proud of myself and acknowledge that to myself. Also, like Tammat, I am socking away all the money I've saved/money I would have spent on cigarettes. That makes me feel rewarded very much! Lastly, I have been working out a lot. Something I couldn't really do while I was smoking due to loss of breath, etc. That is also very rewarding to me. So, maybe what I'm trying to say is this: Awareness of the good things happening because of my decision to quit are my rewards. So, do you all think the rewards can be subtle like mine or do they have to be more defined?
