Ditto here on the gym. Ditto here on the weight gain... 60 pounds and have been going up and down from here for the last 9 months. I don't know about you but I really really would like to have some sense of control over my health and body. I keep starting programs and quitting. I told my doctor that I thought i'd be able to acomplish anything after I quit smoking... like superman. He said "Yeah, but you can't quit eating." Maybe if we had a buddy system going? We could make up some rules.. you know - to prevent quitting all together. Oh, and the thing about the gym.. once you start going regular, you have more energy to go.. you just have to get over the stupid hump. I gained a total of 50 pounds and seem to have stabilized. I joined a gym but get off work so late and I'm so tired, I have not been able to go regularly. It didn't do me any good. I'm taking some medication that stops the absorption of fat so that might have helped stop the weight gain train. I have a serious lack of time and lack of energy. Because of my hours, I generally go to sleep within an hour of eating dinner. That doesn't help at all but I can't change it right now. Well? Did you do it? I just joined WW again. I lost a lot of weight on it once before, and I credit the eating habbits I learned there with not gaining much of anything when i had my last baby. Of course, I unlearned them all when I quit smoking. I was using foods - sweats and other calorie packed treets as "rewards", and now i've gained 60 pounds. My first week I tried the "core" plan and that didn't work very well for me, and plan to go back to counting points after Christmas. I'll be weighing in on Thursdays. Wanna be WW buddies? Just had comment on Curves. I joined in March just before my quit. I wanted something play so I wouldn't pack on a lot of weight. I love it!!! It is something that almost anyone can work into their day. You work out and meet a lot of wonderful people. You have join for a full year which is scary. When my year is up I plan on continuing. So with my walking and Curves I have not put to much on. I know it will come off in time. Hello ! Long time..... My 2 cents Lady... go for it. Can't hurt to try something new and doing new things is refreshing to the soul.... change inspires. If you add in a little walking with it, you may just find yourself with more energy and feeling uplifted. Best to you ! I am thinking about Curves, but have not made the commitment yet. Lady - a woman after my heart! I am a lifetime WW'er and can preach for days on it. Yes, you have to decide to live the life but isn't that the point? I lost 50+ pounds and have kept it off or 2 years (-10 pounds I play with). My suggestion if you take the plunge - use the highest number for your height and weight so you can get to lifetime quicker and then continue to lose so you have pounds to play with and yet stay in goal. I don't journal much anymore, attend meetings sparingly (even thought they are free now) but I know my points better than my name and I eat WAY more on plan than I ever did before - and if I want to be bad I can be. THAT is a lifetime plan for me! Good luck and keep us posted! I have had success on it more than once. But I have also tried alot of other diets, it all boils down to this, if you want to eat real food and not deny yourself your favorites, than Weight Watchers is the way to go. If you want to be deprived, try something else. Yes it does cost, but you can also do it online for less than going to the meetings. The support is really great, both at meetings and online! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 213 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,325 Amount Saved: $2,247.15 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 2 Mins: 32 Seconds: 17
