headaches

I suffered with headaches during withdrawal. Tylenol PM and going to bed helped me to get through it. It is temporary. Drink plenty of ice water, place a warm cloth over your eyes and rest. Remember not to smoke and it will get better. If you smoke, you will have to start all over again. Hang in there. As the others said, singlepickle (love that name), it's common and it won't last long. Make sure you're getting enough rest, & try a walk in the fresh air. This first couple of weeks is dificult, with all kinds of weird symptoms & feelings showing up. Listen to your body, be good to yourself, give yourself whatever you need. Congrats on 5 days, you're doing great! Singlepickle, Headaches are common among new quitters. They can be due to tension or to increase in blood flow in your general circulation. A hot shower or a relaxation technique may help in addition to traditional pain relievers. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Many quitters have had the headaches Single pickle, in the first couple of weeks. It is your body healing. Nicotine affected the receptors in the brain and thus the headaches now. I used ibuprofen. It didn't take long and they vanished. There are lots of little quirkie physical things the first couple of weeks, foggy head, sleep disturbance, a little excess gas etc etc. All part of your body cleansing out the drugs! It is a good thing though, because quite soon you feel so much better! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 208 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,200 Amount Saved: $2,194.40 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 10 Mins: 7 Seconds: 45
