So right stickin...I feel like I have won the lottery by not smoking. My life has opened up so much in the last 60 days - I can't imagine how I will feel a year from now. My attitude is just to... That's all there is in the end! Another thoughtful, motivational post, stickin'. Thanks. I enjoy not smoking a lot more than I ever enjoyed smoking. That really is a great post. It gives me hope. A conversation with a friend gave me a walk down memory lane, back to the days when I had quit smoking and stayed quit for three years. She told me about someone she knew who quit when she got pregnant and stayed quit while she was breastfeeding. She never really wanted to quit and as soon as she could started smoking again, just as she was before she quit. When I quit before, I wanted to quit, just not really. If you know what I mean. I stayed quit for three years and then just decided it wasn't worth it anymore. I still wanted a cig, still wanted one all the time. I just didn't have one. They didn't have NRT in those days. I quit cold turkey. I'm right back there now. I hope at 620 days I'll be able to say that I don't want one anymore. It gives me a lot to look forward to. But, if at three years I still wanted a cig, I might not have that luxury. I still won't smoke though. I really never gave quitting much of a chance, and the reason being I actually thought I liked smoking. To tell you the truth, I dont really member if I liked to smoke or not. I did it though. You do something for years and just naturally get use to doing it. It is a reflex reaction, and a habit. And oh what a habit it is! It is a job to quit however a real worthwhile investment. I count my lucky stars that I accomplished something that I thought I would never, ever attempt. I did believed that I would never, ever quit smoking. Stay the course with me. We will quit and stay quit along with the other 1,300,000 world wide quitters each year. That is a lot of people. If they can do it, we too can do it. Be grateful and as Mercy would say you get to quit. I know now that I really enjoy not smoking. This is a pleasant thought!
