Where'd the Idea Come From Anyway?

enemas...isn't that one of the creatures at the bottom of the sea? And what the heck is it doing smoking? Since time began, people have been experimenting with everything. So it does not suprise me that rear ends and tobacco plants have been combined at some point. Now because it was addictive, does that mean that they felt the need to use this combination often? And also, I have heard of second hand smoke, I hate to think was this particular version is called. :) I think I would rather hit myself over the head with a parsnip! sorry, b ut i had to chuckle at the idea of a tobacco enema! tobacco is no good to anyone, and it is strange that plants grow that can have no possible benefit to anyone, and end up becoming so poular IN my view anyway lynnexx My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 364 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,460 Amount Saved: 1,456.00 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 8 Mins: 35 Seconds: 14

Googled... and found this: TOBACCO TIMELINE c. 6000 BC: Experts believe the tobacco plant, as we know it today, begins growing in the Americas. c. 1 BCE: Experts believe American inhabitants begin finding ways to use tobacco, including smoking (via a number of variations) and in enemas. c. 1 CE: Tobacco was "nearly everywhere" in the Americas. (American Heritage Book of Indians, p.41). 600-1000 CE: UAXACTUN, GUATEMALA. First pictorial record of smoking: A pottery vessel found here dates from before the 11th century. On it a Maya is depicted smoking a roll of tobacco leaves tied with a string. The Mayan term for smoking was sik'ar Now there's an alternative way to get your nicotine (enemas, lol). Oh, I also found this: IN THE BEGINNING . . . Huron Indian myth has it that in ancient times, when the land was barren and the people were starving, the Great Spirit sent forth a woman to save humanity. As she traveled over the world, everywhere her right hand touched the soil, there grew potatoes. And everywhere her left hand touched the soil, there grew corn. And when the world was rich and fertile, she sat down and rested. When she arose, there grew tobacco . . . Ha! Her hands touched and made potatoes and corn, but where she SAT, her BUTT made tobacco! How fitting is that?!? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 294 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,820 Amount Saved: $882.00 Life Gained: Days: 30 Hrs: 7 Mins: 52 Seconds: 34

HI, Did you ever wonder where the idea of chopping up plant leaves...wraping them in paper and setting them on fire while you inhale them came from anyway? Granted....nicotine is very addicting....but why did absorbing nicotine have to be by entering the body by means of a foul smelling cigarette that leaves your mouth tasting like a garbage dump? Couldn't they think of another way to make a social habit out of the toxic plant juice. I don't know.... like clear vile bottles you took in pill form or some ointment that smelled good. LOL LOL...now what made me think of this???? It's a wonder no one ever improved on the method of getting the drug in a more glamous method. Why do goats have to think so deep???? :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 274 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,480 Amount Saved: $1,224.78 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 0 Mins: 36 Seconds: 39
