Thank you Sara that does help to know that someone else has been off work for that long. I went to work today to visit and just see whats up with everybody and my boss actually got tears in his eyes when he saw me. I almost started to cry but held back. Its funny how anxiety always has you thinking the bad before the good. Its no wonder why I have this problem. I was feeling a little stressed there today but who knows but will come of it. I am going to go a head with my plans to return on the 8th. I will be thinking of you and hope you have a great return as well. Congrats on the Pregnancy....=0)

Hi OBrendie, I have been off work since August due to my panic. My panic attacks are triggered by work situations as well, so I know exactly how you are feeling. My tentative return to work date is November 15. My psychiatrist and I are keeping a close eye on my panic attacks. The panic diary here is very useful and we both rely on it quite heavily. My psychiatrist feels that it would be 'safe' for me to try and return to work then as my panic attacks have been small and manageable for over a three week period and it's a good indication that I should be able to cope with the work triggers. As well, I'm also pregnant, so that is giving me something else to focus on. I'm not sure how your medical leave plan works, but I have an 8-week period in which to gradually phase myself back into work on reduced days and modified duties. If you have something like this - use it! I know exactly how you are feeling. I am scared to return to work because I'm not sure how I'm going to react going back. My husband and I have already decided that if I cannot go back, then I will just stay at home on sick leave until the baby is born. Removing the pressure to perform and get back on my feet has helped tremendously. I hope this is helpful. Good luck and remember to take all the time you need to recover. Sarah :)

I have been on medical leave for 3 months now. This was the scariest thing I have ever gone thru but I seem to be okay now. How do you know if you are strong enough to return to work ? Especially when you have so much pressure and stress there and that is what probably caused me to get this bad. I have had situational anxiety here and there but this time it was awfull. My heart palpitations did not stop for 2 months. I was so freaked out and scared to takes any kind of medications but now I am taking Depokate and Klonopin and I seem to be getting better. Can you really work with this anxiety / panic stuff ?
