Amy! Wow you are a God send. I can't believe it. I just read the symptons & testing. I hope I went to the right site. It was called the autonomic Disorders and Mitral Valve Prolapse Center. The symptons described me. I don't get chest pain tho. Which I'm glad that would scare the gee bees out of me. my heart is always on the run to. When I get really stressed, I will feel a flutter above my heart that feels like its going off as fast as a machine gun. The fluttering is not constant only under extreme stress.
Do you experience that also, I also have skipped beats but the flutter is different feeling. It is Ironic, because I am going in for a yearly Physical on Monday any advice to say to the doctor. I printed out the information from the web. site to take with me.
Yes, MVP does run in families. I use to wake up in
the middle of the night with my heart racing. I still
have problems when I lay down to go to sleep. My
heart starts skipping beats which is very common
with MVP. They are still trying to adjust my beta
blocker so i won;t have as many palpatations. Oh,
and until I was on the med(beta blocker) I use to
feel my heart beat all the time. I have been doing a
lot of research on this topic and gathering all sorts
of material on support groups. Let me know what
you find out after you check out the website.
Amy, my heart rate runs the same as yours. I was wandering if you would wake up in the middle of the night and your heart rate would be racing for no reason? and I also can hear my heart beat in my head when I lay down to sleep, I try to lay on my back so it won't be so annoying and scary. Did you have that also. I am going to take your advice and check out the web.site. My brother had panick attacks also and had a phyiscal and they also said he was ok. He Went again for a yearly exam and they found his, so I am wondering if it can run in families.
Guys and gals....check out mitral valve prolapse
sydrome on the net. I just wonder if a lot of us have
this and don't know it. I have just been told I have it
and it totally makes sense. MVP and panic attacks
go hand in hand. Especially those who have heart
palpatations and heart racing. Just check it out
and let me know what you think. You can go to
mvprolapse.com/questionnaire.html to take a short
test.
Hi Sam
Yes it is scary. It all I can think about and I wonder if I have to live the rest of my life with this. The xanax does help tame it down but maybe I agree with you in that it is scary. Makes me not want to go anywhere and I am so tired of not going anywhere.
Thanks for your reply... just nice to know that I am not the only one going thru this.
I have this often too, it's scary when I can feel it without having to check my pulse, in my neck and chest I can feel it, it sucks and is scarey at times!
I was wondering how many other people have those nasty heart palpitations. Mine are usually with me all the time. It is starting to drive me literally insane. I take xanx xe to help get rid of them but that makes me so tired. I really can't tell if I am just having palpitations, experienceing stress, maybe having an anxiety attack or even the start of panic.
Does anybody else have heart palpitations all the time. I am talking about the kind that just beat out of your chest. The kind that you don't have to check your pulse cause when you look at the vein in your arm you can see your heart beating. I am unable to take any of the anti depreseants so they kind of just have me on the xanax or klonopin but man I always tired.
